VW T25 Why?

Always wanted a VW campervan. Enjoyed the outdoor life and used to go away in the tent as much as we could over the summer. When the weather started to deteriorate (as it does in this country) we would become very frustrated at the lack of opportunity to get away cheaply. In fact we discovered a potential new condition - MAD [Mid-Summer Affective Disorder] It is for this
reason that we decided we had to take the plunge........

Naming

This was a hard one. I quite liked the name Bertie (as in Bertie Volks), but seeing as though we had just come back from India we both also like the name of Ganesh (the Hindu elephant God). We decided to call him Ganesh. In the meantime, people had already started to call him bertie so eventually decided on the name
Bertie Ganesh.

Timescales

Well we decided on Friday afternoon that we wanted one. I spent all day friday searching the web finding out as much info as I could. Saturday we drove all around Lancashire and Blackpool looking at various vans to get an idea of what we wanted. Saturday night was spent surfing again - found two possibilities. One had been sold and other was still for sale!

Sunday - texted my uncle. He came over with us to view it and we decided to buy it there and then. Less than 48 hours after deciding we wanted one-we had purchased it.

Drove it back and was amazed how much pull it had on the motorway. (1.9l petrol engine) I expected it to go quite slow and struggle with hills etc. I only pushed it to about 55 mph, but it could go faster. Managed to overtake things quite easily, and was really beginning to get attached! Biggest change from driving a car is the length, lack of power steering and the rather large steering wheel. Didn't take long to get used to it however. even managed to park it a KFC car park on the way back! Couldn't stop admiring it from the window however!

Next stop, my mums house! My sister came bounding out of the house, "You only told me yesterday you wanted one, and today you've bought one!!"
